The ongoing rift between Iran and the US
Donald Trump, an Islamophobic, racist, and sexist President of the United States have always selfishly brought down the economy, peace, and stability of developing nations. He is certainly a destructive President with selfish motives. A world is not built by a mere single nation, it is built by several different countries which is living and working together for the betterment of the planet. When Trump withdrew the US from the Iran nuclear deal, it was confirmed that he doesn’t bother about the development of other countries. What Mr. Trump doesn’t understand is that no country can become great without getting help from its allies and sometimes, from enemies too. Seems like Trump’s Make America Great Again is only possible in his head.
Before Iran nuclear deal, which is thirteen years ago, our countrymen were living a lavish life, the economy of the country was way better than today, and importantly Iranians were happy about everything except the government. Well, we were upset from the government of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and we protested peacefully against him. We knew we were being tricked by our own President.
Meanwhile, international countries suspected the making of nuclear weapons in Iran and opposed it. UN, US, and their ally countries pledged to stop the alleged making of nuclear weapons in Iran (Note: Many of the countries which opposed Iran are themselves a nuclear nation). My question is, was putting a ban and restricting oil trade was the only option to control the situation? Iran was banned by the US and the UN for ten years from selling oil and natural gas to certain countries. The country where more than half of the population survives on the business of oil faced a major set back. Billions were lost and our coward Government did nothing to ease the international relationships.
Here commoners like us were affected--we lost jobs, prices of food and other basic things sky-rocketed. Nobody cared. Not a single nation thought about the common citizen of Iran.
Only after we elected President Hassan Rouhani, things started to change. He, in 2015, agreed to a deal called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action with six major world powers—the US, UK, France, China, Russia, and Germany. This came to be known as the Iran nuclear deal.
